Al-Faisaly and Oman's Al-Nahda in the AFC Champions League 2.. Today

Al-Faisaly realizes that it needs a win when it faces Oman's Al-Nahda at 9:15 PM today at Amman International Stadium in the second round of the AFC Champions League 2. Al-Faisaly views this as an utmost necessity to secure a victory for many reasons, most importantly its position in the standings, as it currently sits at the bottom of Group C after the first round resulted in a 3-4 loss to its host, Qatar's Al-Rayyan, and the Omani team's 1-1 draw with its guest, Saudi Arabia's Al-Taawoun. Consequently, Al-Faisaly understands the stakes of the match on its home turf and in front of its fans.

Al-Faisaly is experiencing a distinguished period in terms of performance, but its supporters always demand a domestic comeback and an Asian breakthrough to compete for titles, especially since the team leads the league championship alone after its recent 1-0 victory over Al-Salt in a difficult match. It certainly does not wish for things to become complicated in the Omani encounter for fear of falling further behind in the title race.

The team has delivered strong performances since the start of the 2026-2027 season, and its morale seems high due to the many deals it has concluded, relying directly on Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Anas Badawi, Ihsan Haddad, Hossam Abu Al-Dahab, Mohammed Haddad, Sidy Sarr, Nour Al-Din Al-Rawabdeh, Salah Al-Yahyaei, Anas Al-Awadat, Ahmed Al-Ersan, and Rizq Bani Hani, with the appearance of professional player Claudio Maradona and, at intervals, Ahmed Abd Rabbo, Majdi Al-Attar, Waseem Al-Riyalat, Nour Bani Attia, and the rest.

The team intensified its training without pause after the Al-Salt match under the supervision of head coach Tarek Mustafa, seeking to make an impact on the continental stage, given that Al-Faisaly has a history and popularity in this regard, having won the championship twice.

These signs of readiness were confirmed by Mustafa during the press conference yesterday, where he stated: "We hope that success will be our ally. The match is important on our home ground, and God willing, we will collect the three points. We have the ambition to finish every match with the required result and compensate for the previous loss. All team members realize the responsibility, and we are fully prepared. Yes, we have injuries, but the blessing is in those who are present, and I ask for the fans' attendance to support and motivate the players."

He mentioned: "All matches are difficult, and we played a good match against Al-Rayyan in the second half after we conceded an early goal at the beginning. We quickly returned and were closer to a draw. In the Al-Nahda match, I see success as very important. Things are different, the clubs are different, and the match is on our home ground; we can deliver what is required. Big teams like Al-Faisaly can make a comeback, and the performance is trending upwards, even though we were affected by the international break."

In the same conference, defender Hossam Abu Al-Dahab explained that the previous match left a "lump in the throat" because it came at the beginning of the journey, as he described it.

He continued, "We can deliver what befits Al-Faisaly and its name. We are in the Asian championship not just to participate, and we will prove that. The opponent, Al-Nahda, is a big team, and we have many options."

On the other side, Al-Nahda, under the English technical leadership of coach Scott Calderwood, wants to earn points and enter the competition. It possesses a mix of experience and youth, including: Fayez Al-Rashidi, Mohammed Faraj, Mohammed Al-Ghafri, Jameel Al-Yahmadi, Amjad Al-Harthi, Valon Ahmedi, Dagefano Anderson, Harib Al-Saadi, Petrus Boumal, Ghanem Al-Habsi, and Ahmed Al-Kaabi.

The visiting team strives in many attempts to create opportunities and possesses prominent names in all lines. It played well in the first round, and its technical staff confirmed their serious pursuit of earning points.
