Ait-Nouri excluded from Algeria's training camp

The Algerian national team's technical staff has decided to exclude Rayan Ait-Nouri from the current training camp, following an incident involving tension between the left-back and the coaching staff during the match against Zambia, which took place on Friday and ended in a 3-1 victory for the "Desert Warriors" in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ait-Nouri, the English Manchester City player, had refused to follow the technical staff's instructions following a heated verbal altercation, after he had been preparing to come on as a substitute, before the decision to field him was changed after the Algerian team scored its second goal.

Nouri, 25, began the match on the bench, in light of his limited participation with City since the beginning of the season, having played only two matches with his team.

Following Algeria's second goal, the player returned to the bench before being asked to resume warm-ups, but he did not comply with the instructions, which led to escalating tension with the technical staff.

Ait-Nouri did not participate in the match, before the national team coach, Brahim Hemdani, decided to exclude him from the camp.

The Algerian Football Federation said in a statement: "The national coach, Mr. Brahim Hemdani, decided this Saturday (the day before yesterday) to release Rayan Ait-Nouri from the national team's ongoing training camp. The Algerian international will return to his club, Manchester City."
