“Youth as Peacebuilders” session in Al-Quwaysimah

The Al-Quwaysimah Youth Center for Girls conducted an awareness session titled “Youth as Peacebuilders,” on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, with the participation of 25 young women in the 18 to 30 age group.

The session addressed UN Security Council Resolution (2250) regarding youth, peace, and security, and the role of the Youth, Peace, and Security Unit at the Ministry of Youth, in addition to defining the five pillars of the resolution and its importance in enhancing youth participation as active partners in peacebuilding and decision-making.

The vision of the Jordanian National Action Plan for Youth, Peace, and Security was also highlighted, as well as the importance of empowering youth and strengthening their role in spreading a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and rejecting violence.

At the conclusion of the session, a discussion was opened regarding the role of youth centers in involving young people in peacebuilding initiatives, and the opportunities available to them for active participation through youth centers.
