The Olympic Committee Continues to Build the Capacities of Protection Coordinators in Sports Federations

The Jordanian Olympic Committee continues its efforts to establish a sports safety system, as it concluded yesterday, Thursday, a training course titled "Protection Contact Coordinators", with the participation of representatives from national sports federations, which was held over Wednesday and Thursday.

The course came within the sports safety strategy implemented by the Jordanian Olympic Committee, and as a continuation of a series of training courses and programs that the Committee has held over the past period, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of sports cadres and raising the level of awareness of protection and prevention concepts, and providing a safe sports environment for all members of the sports system.

The course focused on qualifying protection contact coordinators in sports federations according to a unified training curriculum, and enhancing their knowledge of sports safety principles and related policies and procedures, in addition to developing their skills in identifying indicators of abuse, violence, and neglect, and the mechanisms for initial dealing with them.

The course also addressed safe reporting and referral procedures according to approved procedures, and defining the role of protection contact coordinators as the first point of contact within sports federations, thereby enhancing their ability to respond to and deal with potential cases and risks, while observing the principles of confidentiality and privacy.

Through the continuation of these courses and programs, the Jordanian Olympic Committee seeks to build a national network of protection contact coordinators in sports federations, thereby enhancing the implementation of sports safety policies and unifying practices and procedures related to protection and prevention.
