(Good morning, pride of the free Jordanian who has not changed) This testimony for me is a medal on my chest, and it also took me back decades when I was a young journalist and writer who dedicated his pen to defending his country since the 1970s when my country was subjected to an unjust smear campaign. I dedicated myself and my pen to countering it, until people began to believe that the Al-Liwaa newspaper, which I was the editor-in-chief at the time, was the newspaper of the armed forces, alongside Al-Aqsa newspaper, which was issued by the Morale Directorate of the armed forces. In those days, Field Marshal Habis Al-Majali and later His Highness Prince Marshal Zeid bin Shaker, may God have mercy on them, encouraged me, but at the same time, they warned me of the risks of the high ceiling of my articles defending my country, and their warnings sometimes came in a style with a lot of humor and affection, especially from Field Marshal Habis, and the directors of the Morale Directorate such as Fakhri Al-Aqrabawi, Yahya Al-Rifai, and others, were always visiting me to boost my morale.
The second indication I received as evidence of the correctness of my bet on my homeland came from the Jordanian Strategies Forum and its paper on 'Levels of Trust in Public Institutions in Jordan and OECD Countries'. It highlighted the levels of trust in public institutions in Jordan compared to OECD countries. The results in this paper showed that our armed forces enjoy the trust of 96% of citizens. This result is not surprising, but rather natural, as our armed forces are a source of reassurance for every Jordanian, and perhaps we are the only people on earth who are happy when their armed forces go out into the streets and squares, because they know that they are safe from the danger they face, and the Corona pandemic is not far from us, where the greatest credit for protecting us from it, after God, goes to our armed forces and their Supreme Commander. This is just an example of the role of our Arab army in bringing reassurance to our hearts, not to mention other reasons, so it is natural that our army is trusted by all citizens.
