Social Expert in 'Pulse of Opinion': Accepting Change in the High School System Reduces Students' and Parents' Anxiety

Professor of Sociology Dr. Hussein Al-Khazmi, during his appearance on the 'Pulse of Opinion' program via 'Ether of Opinion', confirmed that the fear of change is one of the main reasons for the anxiety that accompanies students and their guardians with any modification to the high school system.

Al-Khazmi called on parents not to rush to judge the new system, and to rely on accurate information and expert opinions, instead of family and community discussions that may be based on incomplete information.

He pointed out that the experience of distributing high school materials over more than one year has given students more flexibility in taking and retaking subjects and improving their grades, along with reducing the psychological pressure associated with the high school exam.

He explained that the new system gives the student a clearer vision of their educational path, and helps them to know their strengths and weaknesses and prepare gradually for the university stage.

Al-Khazmi warned against excessive private tutoring and educational platforms, calling on parents to give their children confidence and encourage them to rely on themselves and cooperate with their classmates in their studies.

He emphasized that the role of the family is not limited to academic follow-up, but also includes providing psychological support and positive energy, stressing the need not to show fear or grumbling about change in front of children so that feelings of anxiety do not transfer to them.

Al-Khazmi said that the development of education systems comes after study and review by the competent authorities, calling on students and parents to give the experiment a real chance, and to benefit from the observations to develop it in a way that serves the interest of students.
