The Director of Education for the Southern Aghwar District, Dr. Issa Al-Tarawane, accompanied by the Director of Educational Affairs, Osama Al-Maradat, and the Inclusive Education Liaison Officer, Dr. Mu'ayyad Al-Maghasiba, inspected the facilities and support provided to inclusive education students at Al-Ma'moura Mixed Secondary School and Al-Jabal Al-Shamali Mixed Secondary School, with the support of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund – Princess Basma Development Center/Karak Branch.
During the tour, Al-Tarawane reviewed what has been accomplished to serve students and meet their needs, which included providing mobile chairs, a bathroom chair for people with disabilities, stationery, as well as preparing facilities and restrooms to suit the needs of students, and implementing meaningful wall drawings that reflect the values of integration, participation, and belonging.
Al-Tarawane praised the efforts made by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund – Princess Basma Development Center/Karak Branch, affirming that such initiatives represent a model of active community partnership, and that their impact is not limited to providing needs and facilities, but extends to enhancing students' sense of security, care, and appreciation, and supporting their families in facing the challenges associated with the educational process.
He emphasized that caring for inclusive education students is a shared educational and humanitarian responsibility, stressing that disability does not diminish a person's value or limit their abilities and aspirations, and that every student has energies and capabilities that deserve to be discovered, cared for, and empowered.
Al-Tarawane pointed out that providing a safe and prepared school environment for students' needs embodies the principles of justice and equal opportunities, and enhances the right of all students to obtain quality education in an environment that preserves their dignity and supports their participation and integration in school life, in line with the directives and royal visions in building and empowering the human being.
For their part, parents and members of the local community expressed their appreciation for this initiative and the facilities it provided for their children, confirming that it contributed to alleviating some of the challenges facing students, and gave them more comfort, security, and confidence within the school environment.
Al-Tarawane listened to the students and reviewed their needs, affirming that the Directorate of Education will continue to work in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, and various institutions, companies, and individuals of the local community, to provide more forms of possible support for inclusive education students.
He stressed the importance of continuing to build a more inclusive and humane educational environment, allowing students to demonstrate their abilities and turn challenges into opportunities for excellence and achievement.
