The completion of this project came under a cooperation agreement that included the Greater Irbid Municipality, the Higher Council for Science and Technology, the Irbid Development Foundation, and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development. The financing for the equipment and supply of scientific applications and tools was provided by the Higher Council for Science and Technology at a cost of 90,000 dinars, in addition to the reservation, maintenance, and equipping of the entrance and the main room of the existing library building in part of the park, and providing it with chairs, a display screen, and a computer with funding from the Council worth 3,500 dinars, to be used for showing awareness films on combating drugs and violence.

Al-Rawabdeh conveyed His Highness’s greetings and his blessing for the completion of the project, stating that the science park comes as an expression of the interest in science and knowledge and the support for creativity and excellence, noting that this achievement is an extension of the El Hassan bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence, which has been managed by the Higher Council for Science and Technology since 1995, and is a gift to the people of Irbid and the northern region to present science to students away from the traditional rote learning method.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology, Dr. Mashhour Al-Refai, emphasized that the Council’s keenness to fund and equip the park with modern technologies and scientific models comes within the framework of translating the directives of His Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal to spread scientific culture and nurture talented individuals.

Al-Refai added that we are witnessing today the reaping of the fruits of diligent work with the opening of this beautiful educational edifice, as the park is distinguished by the introduction of new technological applications that simulate the era and specialize in artificial intelligence sciences, joining the success of the two previous experiences in Salt and Shobak, and forming a space for dialogue and interaction and an educational tool that enhances innovation and provides an ideal atmosphere for rejuvenation amidst an environment equipped with all services.

In turn, the Mayor of Greater Irbid, Dr. Imad Al-Azzam, explained that the project comes within the rehabilitation works of the Rose Garden to provide an interactive educational environment outside the classrooms for school, college, and university students, pointing out that the park includes more than 50 interactive scientific models that embody various physical phenomena and principles such as the rainbow, the solar heater, sound transmission, the waterfall, and the lever, which links the theoretical side with practical application.

Al-Azzam emphasized that the project embodies an effective model of partnership between the municipality, the foundation, and the Higher Council for Science and Technology, noting that the park is not limited to serving the residents of the area only, but its services extend to include schools of the Ministry of Education, UNRWA, and Military Culture in the entire northern region, in addition to its role in providing job opportunities for the people of the region and investing in the energies of youth.

For his part, the Executive Director of the Irbid Development Foundation
