Yesterday, Al-Hussein team entered a training camp in the capital Amman, in preparation for facing East Bengal of India tomorrow, Wednesday, within the second round of the Asian Football Champions League, amid efforts to restore balance and appear in a different image from that which the team appeared in the beginning of its journey in the local league championship.
The camp is held at an important time for the team, which is seeking to rearrange its cards and address the mistakes that accompanied the local start, hoping to open a new page on the continental level and show the personality it is accustomed to in its Asian participations in recent seasons.
The temporary technical staff, led by coach Bashar Bani Yasin after the resignation of Ahmed Hayel, attaches great importance to the current stage, given the tight time and the need for the team to raise technical and physical readiness, in addition to working on the psychological aspect, especially after the results that did not meet the aspirations of the club's fans at the start of the league.
Bani Yasin focuses during training on addressing defensive gaps and improving team organization, while trying to reach the most ready lineup to face the continental confrontation, benefiting from the experience of a number of players who have previously played important Asian matches.
Al-Hussein hopes that the match against East Bengal will be an opportunity to regain confidence, especially as the continental competition requires high concentration and good investment of opportunities, away from any calculations or repercussions related to the local start.
The club's management, technical staff, and players realize that the current stage does not allow for further decline, given the aspirations of Al-Hussein fans to maintain the team's strong presence in Asia and continue competing for a ticket to the knockout stages.
While the team seeks to overcome the shock of the start in the local league, the match against East Bengal appears to be an early test of Al-Hussein's ability to restore its balance, close the page of recent results, and return to the path of victories under a temporary technical leadership led by Bani Yasin.
Al-Hussein will try to make the best possible use of the training camp in order to enter the continental match with greater concentration and confidence, and achieve a result that gives it an important morale boost before continuing its journey in the local and Asian championships.
The draw placed Al-Hussein in Group Four, which includes the Indian team, Iraqi Police, and Omani Seeb, confirming that the competition will be difficult in securing one of the two tickets to the second round.
