Nassar runs for Olympic Council of Asia elections

National boxing team athlete, Hanan Nassar, is running for membership in the Athletes' Commission of the Olympic Council of Asia, coinciding with her participation in the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

Nassar is a candidate for the West Asia region, competing for the seat allocated to the region in the Athletes' Commission elections, which will see the election of four members representing the West Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia regions.

The voting process will take place from September 20 to October 2, at designated polling stations within the athletes' villages and approved sites during the Games.

Athletes holding Category (F) accreditation are eligible to participate in the elections, with each athlete having one vote to choose their representatives on the Olympic Council of Asia Athletes' Commission.

Nassar seeks to gain the trust of the athletes participating in the Games and win membership in the commission, allowing her to contribute to representing the athletes' voice within the Olympic Council of Asia and participate in discussing issues and topics related to them.

The results of the Athletes' Commission elections are scheduled to be announced on October 3.
