Raed Haroun announced his resignation from the presidency of the Fencing Federation, affirming that his decision came after a phase during which he carried the responsibility with utmost dedication and sought to serve fencing sports and provide the best opportunities for players and athletes to represent Jordan in various forums.
In a statement published on his personal Facebook page, Haroun explained that he is leaving his position feeling proud of what has been achieved during his presidency, pointing to what he described as the development of institutional work in the Federation, support for players and national teams, and enhancing the presence of Jordanian fencing at the Arab and international levels.
He added that he worked to translate his vision for the development of the game into practical steps, by dedicating time and effort to serve the sport, based on his belief that responsibility is based on commitment, work, and follow-up, and that the value of achievement lies in its impact and sustainability.
Haroun pointed out that his conviction has always been that responsibility is not measured by positions, but by the impact left by the person in charge, noting that sports achievement requires a supportive environment for initiative and a partnership that values work and puts the interest of sports and athletes first.
He indicated that the decision to resign came after reflection and evaluation, in respect of his convictions and in preservation of the principles that led him to accept this responsibility from the beginning.
At the end of his statement, Haroun expressed his thanks to the Olympic Committee, technical and administrative bodies, players and their families, appreciating their trust and efforts throughout the past period, affirming that his love for fencing sports and his pride in its sons and daughters will continue despite his departure from the presidency.
