Reservations regarding Richarlison's future with Tottenham

Tottenham's Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi refused to reveal whether Richarlison will remain with the London club, following reports that the Brazilian international striker wishes to terminate his contract.

According to reports, Richarlison has entered into a dispute with his club regarding the remaining nine months of his current contract.

The 29-year-old striker was linked with a move to his former club Everton, but the deal collapsed shortly before the summer transfer window closed in England on September 1st.

According to reports, Richarlison wants Tottenham to agree to a loan deal that would allow him to join the Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, with a view to re-evaluating his options in January.

Edmar Lopes, the sporting director of the Rio de Janeiro club, confirmed that he is in talks to sign Richarlison.

However, it is believed that the London team prefers a permanent transfer deal, leaving the situation at a stalemate as the transfer window in Brazil was set to close yesterday evening, Friday.

Richarlison, who joined the North London club in 2022, has not played for his team since the 0-3 loss to Brentford in the opening round of the league.

He was excluded from Tottenham's official 25-man squad for the Premier League season when it was announced on September 3rd.

When asked if Richarlison has a future at the club, De Zerbi told reporters on Friday, "I don't know. That's not my job."

He added, "What I can say is that I know very well what the club did for Richarlison, and I know very well what Richarlison did for the club in the last month or two."

He continued, "I know, the club knows, he knows, and his agent knows. Everyone knows better than you (the press). Much better."

In Richarlison's absence, Tottenham has not achieved any victory in the league this season and is still waiting to score its first goal in the competition before hosting Everton on Saturday.

The former Marseille manager said, "I think we are better than last season. It's hard to believe that right now because we aren't winning and we aren't scoring, but I am optimistic."

He added, "I believe in my players, and in this group of players. I think the players have great abilities and great potential, and now I am optimistic."
